Michael is a technology entrepreneur and screenwriter who believes the most powerful innovations begin with a compelling story.
He previously founded Apptera, a pioneer in enterprise voice automation. Under his leadership, the company secured 20 patents, raised $40 million in venture capital, partnered with Fortune 500 companies including AT&T, and signed Bank of America as its first enterprise customer before a successful acquisition.
Today, Michael leads StarCoach AI, building an AI-powered curriculum implementation platform designed to automate the instructional cycle and give teachers back their time. His approach combines deep technical execution with a storyteller’s focus on clarity, usability, and human impact.
An award-recognized screenwriter and member of the Writers Guild of America, Michael brings narrative thinking to product design—ensuring that technology serves people, not the other way around.
Paul is a veteran math educator and curriculum implementation leader with deep experience in Illustrative Mathematics (IM) classrooms.
For six years, Paul worked directly with middle school math teachers implementing IM, supporting lesson delivery, professional learning, classroom observation, and data-driven instructional improvement. He has seen firsthand the daily challenges teachers face—time-intensive lesson preparation, tracking student misconceptions, differentiating effectively, and aligning instruction to standards while maintaining strong classroom culture.
Those experiences led him to join StarCoach AI with a clear mission: build a system that doesn’t just patch one problem, but supports the entire instructional cycle in one integrated solution.
In addition to his classroom and district leadership experience, Paul holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Mathematics Education. At StarCoach AI, he ensures the platform reflects real classroom realities and delivers practical, research-aligned support for teachers and school leaders.
